The Aging in Place discussion usually happens when clients are already facing or anticipating challenges living in their homes. Mary Dancey Interiors centers on living your best life in your home at any age, regardless of any curve balls thrown your way. This type of kitchen and bath design does not have to look institutional. We aim to meet the requirements of each project without compromising the future needs of both the client, and of future generations. Bath Design

Reinforced walls around the toilet, in the shower, and bathtub area for grab bars. Clients may not need grab bars now, but anything can happen at any time, so they’re included in designs for clients of all ages. Something as simple as a sprained ankle or a shoulder injury can alter how you need to use your bathroom.
All vanities with drawers for ease of access.
Wider door openings into the bathroom.
Zero or low shower thresholds.
Non-slip flooring.

Kitchen Design

All base cabinetry with drawers, and doors only where it makes sense—under sinks, for garbage and other pullouts.
Under-counter microwave drawers for ease of access.
Minimum 42″ aisle ways between cabinet runs with 48″, if space allows.
Varying countertop heights.
Cook-tops and stoves with controls on the front for ease of use.
Pull-down shelves in wall cabinets.
Easy access step stools when pull-downs are not used.
Non-slip flooring.
In-cabinet lighting for drawers/doors.
Custom lighting options including: toe-kick lighting, and lighting for under cabinets, walk-ways, and islands.

Kitchen & Bath Design

We always start the Kitchen & Bath Design process with a site visit to discuss your design vision, and the overall scope of the project. Once we decide we’re a good fit and want to work together, a contract is drafted and the fun begins!

The quoted price typically includes floor plans, elevations, 3D views, quotes, and the selection of fixtures and finishes to customize your Kitchen or Bath design to your taste.

All projects are unique to the homeowner, so pricing may vary. Typically, Kitchen Design starts at $5,250.00 and Bath Design at $2600.00 depending on size and complexity of the project.

Hourly Rate $175.00

Design Consultations

$500.00 Plus HST

We offer a 90 minute on site consultation to talk about what you both love and hate about your space. During this time, we’ll talk about your vision for the space that will make you happy every time you walk through the door. Be prepared though, your vision and my vision may not align, all we ask is that you have an open mind to all the possibilities.

Each consultation includes a follow-up email detailing all that was discussed, a scope of work and next steps for your project.

Floor Plans and 3D Renderings

Are you having a hard time deciding where all your furniture should go? Or what size of furniture and area rugs will look best or what accessories to buy?

3D Renderings are a wonderful tool to help you see your new space before the work has begun. With the click of a button, I can easily make changes to fabric, wood, paint stains, and wall colour.

Design Management for Kitchen & Bath Design and Interior Decorating.

You are in the final stretch and after all the designing is complete and decisions have been made it’s time to make sure that the project is implemented correctly. Site visits, dealing with last minute changes and making sure it all looks just liked you dreamed it would is what these fees are for. Depending on the scope of the project, services are typically billed bi-weekly at $125.00 per hour.

Purchases

All purchases made by Mary Dancey Interiors for your project are subject to a 20-25% markup of our costs. This includes managing the ordering, receiving and inspection of the goods before they are set up in your space.

Each project is unique, like you are, and will be assessed and a billing structure will be determined and outlined in the client contract.
