Living Well In Place Design

Living Well in Place and Aging in Place are somewhat interchangable in nature. The aging in place discussion usually happens with clients that are already facing or anticipating some challenges living in their homes while living well in place discussions are about living your best life in your home no matter what curve balls are sent to you along the way. This type of kitchen and bath design does not have to look institutional.  Have a look at our portfolio, most of those images that you'll see were designed for living well in your space for as long as you can.

  • Bath Design
  • Re-enforced walls around the toilet, in the shower and bathtub area for grab bars – clients may not need grab bars now but anything can happen at any time. These we put in the designs for clients of all ages. Something as simple as a sprained ankle or a shoulder injury will immediately change the way you need to use your bathroom.
  • Vanities with all drawers and no doors for ease of accessing what is stored in your vanity. Pullout storage if the budget allows.
  • Wider door openings from the hall or bedroom into the bathroom.
  • Zero or low shower thresholds
  • Non-slip floors.
  • And more

  • Kitchen Design:
  • All base cabinetry with drawers and only doors where it makes sense - for garbage and other pullouts.
  • Under Counter microwave drawers for ease of putting items in and out of the microwave
  • Min 42" isle ways between cabinet runs with 48" if space allows
  • Varying countertop heights
  • Cooktops and stoves with the controls on the front
  • Pull down shelves in wall cabinets
  • Easy access step stools when pull downs are not used.
  • Non-slip floors
  • In Cabinet lighting for drawers/doors
  • Toe Kick lighting
  • Under cabinet lighting
  • Walk-way lighting, island lighting
  • And more

Kitchen & Bath Design

We always start the Kitchen & Design process with a free site visit to speak to you about your design vision and get a good idea of the over all scope of your project. Once we decide to work together a contract is put in place and the fun begins.

The quoted price typically includes floor plans, elevations, 3D views, quotes and the selection of the fixtures and finishes to make your Kitchen or Bath as individual as you are.

All projects are unique to the homeowner so pricing may vary but typically Kitchen Design starts at $1500 and Bath Design at $1200 depending on size and complexity of the project.

Hourly Rate $175.00

Are you having a hard time deciding where all your furniture should go or what size of
furniture, area rugs and accessories to buy? Floor plans are not included in the initial consultation but can be ordered as an additional service to help you visualize your fabulous new space.

Living room floor plan3D Renderings are a wonderful tool to help you see what your're new space will look like before the work has begun. With the click of a button or two I can easily make minor changes to fabric, wood and paint stains and wall colour. A little more work can change the design.

Concept Board - Using Power Point

To help clients visualize their new space, I will create a custom designed board that will show the actual fabrics, finishes, colours and floor plan, if in scope, that will be used to complete the project.

$100 per board
