Century Home

The new owners of this beautifulcentury home in Tottenham liked the finish on the walls but after living here for a few years wanted something different and lighter to take better advantage of what little natural light they do have in this area.

The risers were lightened up considerably and a nice silvery blue paint put on the walls.  A new runner was put on the stairs for safety.

This window faces east, so while there is plenty of light in the morning later in the day overhead lights are needed.

This area has also been lightened up considerably with the addition of the light blue paint.

The living room had been painted green, which didn't leave enough contrast between the fireplace, trim, floors and walls. A nice saturated blue on the walls was all this room needed to make the clients happy.

The whole kitchen was white with a stained concrete covered countertop and painted back splash.  We decided to paint the cabinets blue, the walls a soft yellow and put another faux painted tile on the back splash.  The countertop was painted as well using several different colours of blue and a few other colours that were used throughout the home and then it was given several layers of a protective clear coat.  This relatively in-expensive make-over has given the kitchen longevity until the clients decide to renovate.

This guest room had 3 layers of wallpaper on it and the original plaster walls behind them. Due to the condition of the walls a slight faux paint finish was applied.  There had been carpeting on the floor with a plan to replace it with more before the beautiful plank flooring was discovered. The clients, themselves, spent days sanding and rubbing in tung oils to give it the lustrous finish it has today.

The dining room was too dark with it's green ceiling, dark walls and trim.  The stencil was sanded off of the ceiling and then painted cream, the walls were layered with creams, yellows and a few darker colours used in other areas of the home.
